Brake light switch was replaced and it fixed the issue. Traction control, hill assist and ABS lights came on a few times, happened mostly during a little harder than usual braking. Found leak at connection hose and was not tightened. The battery was replaced under guaranty (lost all its charge)ĪC not cold. OEM battery was becoming weak enough (extremely slow cranking) that I did not trust it with cold weather (2 years, 8 months).īattery failed just outside warranty (37 months) Checked forums and seems like a common issue. The failure is quite common though, as per both the dealer and the internet. I believe there may have been a service bulletin for this repair, but I can't be certain. A brake light switch is a 20-minute replacement if you can yoga yourself into position. It took about 2 hours to conduct the repair, though I'm sure it could've been done more quickly if the dealership wasn't as busy as it was that day. Since we'd experienced the failure only when driving, that failure mode didn't present itself. The dealer was well aware of this failure, and stated that often when the failure occurs the vehicle gets stuck in "park", since the failure doesn't allow the shift lock to release.

I told her to keep an eye on it to see if it would happen again, at which point we'd take full advantage of that fantastic factory warranty! A month or so went by and the lights came on again, so a service trip was planned. Later that day the lights turned themselves off. While my girlfriend was driving her car, the brake, ABS, and TCS lights all lit. Range is limited to only a few car lengths or 20 or 30 feet - totally worthless and very expensive $600 plus. I am told by the dealer Subaru's with the push button start system do not work well with their own factory remote start. Will have to pay for repairs out of pocket after warranty.Ĭamera view shifted showing bottom of car.įactory Remote Start - Had installed as a gift for my wife and it worked so poorly I had them remove it and refund me. Install was done at the dealership for free. This trip was to have a replacement monitor installed. Problem: Infotainment system monitor sometimes will not respond to touch. Dealership will be installing a new monitor/infotainement system when it arrives.

Update There were no new software updates to install. Another possible help has been keeping the USB drive un-pluged which holds the pod casts I listen to (their idea). They have installed software updates previously which have helped.

Monitor does not respond to touch sometimes. They recommended I call Subaru of America to explain the problem that way they can make note of it and inform me if anything else can be done. The only thing they can do is replace the radio, but since the replacement will have the same programming the problem will most likely persist. They are sure the problem is in the software program. The dealer informed me that there is not a recall on the radio. The monitor which displays things like AM/FM radio stations, USB, XM Radio, Bluetooth, etc.
